Questions & Answers

Welcome to Lily's Pad Child Care! Have any questions? Feel free to go through our Q & A page and hopefully you will find your answers here. If you still have questions, feel free to contact us and we will get back to you asap.

How do I apply and is there a wait list?

First, I always suggest contacting us to make sure there is an opening. Our applications and handbook do change from time to time, so I wouldn't suggest filling it all out unless there is an upcoming or immediate opening. You can message or email us to make sure the opening works out for the time, days and age of your child. We will then enter the given information onto a proposed contract page and send it to you. To apply, please click on the application link above. Click on either the one child or two children application button, download the application, either fill it out on PC or print and fill out, click on the Parent Handbook button, then either read it there, or print it out (I will need the last page printed and signed) and finally you can either send me the application, signed contract page and handbook signature page or you can bring them to our interview with you and your child(ren). If there are no current openings, please fill out our wait-list page and we will contact you when there is one.

How do interviews work?

When coming to the interview, please bring the filled out application, signed contract sheet, immunization record, signed parent handbook signature page and the child being enrolled. We encourage both parents to attend the interview if possible. During the interview, you will meet both my husband and I, as we both run the daycare together. You will be able to ask any questions you might have and we will ask questions as well. In this short time, we all try to get to know each other as much as possible, get to see your little one play and see how they react to the new environment. After the interview, we will let you know if we believe your child will be a good fit for our program. This notice can come as short as 10 minutes or as late as 48 hours after the interview, it all depends on if we have other interviews scheduled and how well your child and your child's schedule fits into our program. If your child is accepted, you will get an email stating your child is accepted. From there, the spot is still open to all families until a deposit is received. Once a deposit is received, the spot is now filled and is no longer available to other families.

My child was just accepted into the daycare now what?

You have 48 hours from when your acceptance email was sent to accept the spot(s) offered. To accept, please contact us right away to let us know you would like to move forward and pay the required deposit needed for the spot(s). Please remember that the spot is not guaranteed yours until the deposit is made. The deposit is equal to one week of care on the signed contract and is used for the last week of care, when two weeks notice is given. If you are unsure of your deposit amount, please contact us and we will let you know the total. If your deposit is not received within 48 hours and we have not heard back from you, then we will move on to the next family and your spot(s) are forfeit. All payments made (including the deposit) are non-refundable.

It's my child's first day! What do I need to bring and what is already supplied for them?

If your child is wearing diapers or pull-ups, please bring enough to keep here for at least 1 week, along with 1-2 changes of clothes to leave as well. We keep diapers, pull-ups and clothes in a cubby with the child’s name on it at the changing station. We will let you know when we are low on diapers/pull-ups and need more. If your child is not in pull-ups or diapers, please bring one full outfit (including undies) to keep here in case of accident or just needing changed (i.e. soaked from rain or play), this includes school age children. For infants, please bring enough formula or breastmilk for 1 week (if you can’t bring that much, please let us know) and 1-2 bottles to keep here. If your infant needs a binky, please bring one that we can leave here in their cubby.

We supply wipes for diaper/pull-up changes, baby powder (only used if needed), labeled cups, water, milk (lactose free), meals, snacks, toys, nap cots (pack-n-play for infants), sheets, pillows (w/pillow case), and blankets (minky blankets for nap comfort). When a new child starts, they are assigned a spot at the table with their name. Depending on their age, the drawer at their seat will include a composition book, pencil, crayons and a folder (with cartoon pictures in it for coloring references and ABC chart). School age children will have all those as well as colored pencils.

What's the drop off process like?

We have an open door policy. During drop-off and pick-up times, the door will be unlocked. Walk in with your child(ren), they can hang their jacket on their hook under their cubby and put their shoes on the shoe rack. You will sign them in on the tablet in front of the white board in the entrance area. Please check the white board for any recent information or reminders of upcoming closures. Send your child through the gate (or hand to us if an infant) and that's it! We ask that parents please stay in the entrance area (behind the white gate) when inside, so the carpet stays as clean as possible for our little ones that crawl.
